Dramatic Classic Style Analysis: Gugu Mbatha-Raw

In this post, I explore and discuss the Dramatic Classic style identity and essence, focusing on a selection of outfits by British actress, Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

The basis of this analysis is primarily the Kibbe system of body typing, and secondarily the Kitchener system for understanding Essence. These systems are unique and independent, but I like to use them together.

Please keep in mind that I'm no expert and these are just my thoughts. They could very well be wrong. Anyway, let's begin.

You can Find Your Kibbe Type by taking the test here.

What Is The Dramatic Classic Body Type?

According to Kibbe, the Dramatic Classic body type is defined by a perfect (blended) balance between yin and yang with a yang influence. This extra yang or sharpness can come across in the bone structure, flesh, and or facial features. The overall look created is smooth and symmetrical with slightly sharp edges.

Dramatic Classic Body Type:

  • Symmetrical bone structure, but with slightly angular/sharp edges

  • Their legs and arms tend to be moderate/average or slightly long

  • They have a bustline, waist, and hips that are somewhat straight and even in proportion

  • At an “ideal” weight, they will appear fairly trim and compact OR they can appear slightly muscular

  • Slightly sharp, square, or angular facial contours (especially in the jawline, nose, and cheekbones)

Following their lines, Dramatic Classics are best complemented by sleek, straight lines, fitted but geometric silhouettes, and slightly sharp edges. Fabrics should be high-quality and medium to heavy weight. All finishes should be sophisticated and the overall look should be symmetrical, angular, tailored, and clean.

What Is The Dramatic Classic Essence?

David Kibbe describes the Dramatic Classic body type style identity as 'Tailored Chic'.

The Classic essence is timeless, reserved, sophisticated, and polished. Classics give off a traditional and elegant vibe. More than anything, they need to always give the sense of being put together.

Gugu's Body Structure:

Kibbe Dramatic Classic: body lines

Gugu's structure is small to moderate, but within that, all of her limbs fit proportionally from head to toe. No part of her is too large or small or draws attention to itself, everything is moderate.

I do see the sharpness in her, it's subtle in her body bone structure but very prominent in her face, particularly her jawline.

Elongation/ Vertical Line

The vertical line is observed in the silhouette between the shoulders and knees and has to do with how fabric falls on the body. Dramatic Classics have a short to moderate vertical line.

Kibbe Dramatic Classic: vertical line

Gugu has a short to moderate vertical line. As such, she looks her best in the short and midi lengths (left, middle). I think the least flattering of these three is the last image (right), where she has the longest-length dress. She doesn't look bad, it's just not as flattering on her as the shorter lengths in which she shines.

Dramatic Classic Hits

Heavy, Stiff Fabrics and Well-Constructed Garments

Kibbe Dramatic Classic: sharp lines and edges

Gugu looks amazing in these looks. They are harmonious with her structure. The fabric is heavy and stiff, which creates sharper lines and angles- which matches her bone structure and more specifically the contours of her face.

The lengths are also perfect for her, knee-length or just-past-the-knee-length garments respect her short/ moderate vertical line. She looks great in each of these looks.

Kibbe Dramatic Classic: heavy fabrics

These are some more examples of Gugu in her element of sharp lines, stiff high-quality fabric, and fitted tailoring (at least on top). She looks beautiful in these looks. The lengths are moderate, which works with her structure.

Classic elements- Preppy

Kibbe Dramatic Classic: preppy outfits

In these images, Gugu is wearing a lot of preppy, Classic detailing- I think of 'preppy' as classic meets ingenue (not that she has an Ingénue essence, I'm just talking about the stylistic details).

In this case, these are brought forward by the schoolgirl collar in the first image (left), the collar and buttons (middle), and the shirt and tunic style of the last look (right). The polka dot pattern of the shirt in the last image also evokes a Classic essence.

Fabric and Silhouette

In these three images, I think Gugu looks the best in the second (middle) and third (right) images. In these images, the fabrics have weight and structure, so they better support her visually and she looks great and harmonious.

In the first image (left), the fabric has weight but no structure. I like the collar and the shoulders, but it sort of just hangs off her after that and does nothing to flatter or accentuate her frame. She needs structure.

Related: Kirsten Dunst is a (Soft) Classic who not only looks great in her lines but who also wears them often. So, her Soft Classic Style Analysis has many great outfit examples to study and contrast.

Dramatic Classic Misses

Casual

Kibbe Dramatic Classic: casual

In these looks, Gugu looks better as we move from left to right and the outfits get more 'put together. She looks underwhelming and undone in the first image (far left). I feel like we caught her on her day off just as she was about to clean her house. This level of casual wear really takes away from her.

In the second look (middle-left), she looks okay and much better than in the first (left). However, it's still a poor look on her. Here, what stands out for me is the fit of her jacket. The sleeves are too long and this poor fit takes away from the look because, for Classics, precise fit (think of a tailored suit) is important.

I like the third look (middle-right), this is how she pulls off casual wear. The fit of the jumpsuit is relaxed, yet it fits her well. The all-black ensemble, including her bag and glasses, creates a 'complete set' look. Lastly, the trim of the jumpsuit is made of stiff, sharp lines in the collar and cuffs which is the perfect detailing that pulls it all together.

Light and Delicate Fabrics and Unconstructed Garments

Kibbe Dramatic Classic: worst lines- soft and drapey

These dresses are too soft and feminine for Gugu. In all of them, I feel like the fabric and trims are too light, soft, and delicate for her, I think the waist belts stand out, and the dresses are too unconstructed.

All of these dresses would be better suited to a softer type like a Romantic where delicate fabrics and waist emphasis suits them best as they better follow and accentuates their prominent curves.

As a Dramatic Classic, Gugu requires a heavier/stiffer fabric and a more prominent construction to match her prominent bone structure. In these looks, there is a mismatch that makes the dresses look off, particularly in the first two images (left, middle).

Asymmetrical

Kibbe Dramatic Classic: worst lines- asymmetrical

These are not some of Gugu's best looks. For a start, the asymmetry throws off the balance that is so important for Classics.

In the first look (left), her one arm that is exposed stands out like a sore thumb. Without it, this dress would look good on her, but as is it looks odd and incomplete. In the middle look, the high-low hemline is another asymmetrical element that creates an imbalance within the look.

Secondly, the fabric of the second look is too light and the watercolor pattern is too soft and indistinct (the elements blend into each other). All of these factors create an altogether disharmonious look.

The last look is too long and has too much fabric, particularly in the skirt. The asymmetry of the one-shoulder design is further emphasized by the multi-colored sashes that fall from her waist to the floor.

I think these sashes and their colors may represent something in the movie, and if that's the case, then the design is very thoughtful. [Though I have no idea if that is the case, I'm just going off a hunch. I have not watched the movie.]

Regardless, I can appreciate the thought behind it without being a fan of the execution, which is the case here. I find this dress to be simultaneously boring and busy on her.

A Silhouette Study

Kibbe Dramatic Classic: silhouette study

Gugu has a small frame, so her clothes are best when the lines follow that frame. As such, in these images, I think she looks better as we move from left to right and the silhouettes get narrower.

In the first look (left), the dress has too much fabric and she's lost behind it. The middle look is better because the silhouette is narrower. However, I think the fabric weight is a tad light and how it drapes is slightly too soft for her.

Lastly, I think the length is too long for her. Not by much, but it's noticeable to me. The ankle lengths of the first (left) and last (right) dress are much better for her. The floor length of the middle dress drags her down. I wish I could see her ankles and her shoes.

I think the silhouette of the last dress is the most flattering. It's narrow and fitted, the lines are straight and sharp, and the length is flattering to her vertical line. While I don't love the excessively shiny quality of the fabric, I do like that it has a weight to it.

Large and Flared

Kibbe Dramatic Classic: worst lines- flared silhouette

These flared silhouettes are too wide for Gugu's small, narrow frame and she drowns in them. As a Classic type, she is best suited by fitted silhouettes, and this is even more important for her as a Dramatic Classic.

In the images above, the middle look is the least flattering because of its wide silhouette and lack of structure. Also, the pattern is too childish and unpolished for her, making it very distracting. It's such a playful and fun look that I'm sure she enjoyed wearing- she looks so happy! It looks like she's playing dress-up, which is exactly what she's doing, so it's fine.

However, from a body types analysis point of view, 'looking like you're playing dress-up' is the definition of an inharmonious look. This dress is so far from her best lines and essence that it looks very separate from her.

The first and last dresses (left, right) both look fine up top because they are fitted on the top part of her body and they are both made from heavier fabrics with structure. However, on the lower half, the dresses flare out and the frame is lost and she suddenly drowns in fabric.

The lengths of these dresses are also too long for her and the way that the fabric pools at her feet further emphasizes the sense of her 'drowning in fabric'.

A Silhouette Comparison

Kibbe Dramatic Classic: silhouette study

Here again, I think Gugu looks better in the yellow dress to the right with a slimmer silhouette. The flare of the first dress (left) creates a visual imbalance in her silhouette. She looks smaller than she is and she looks disproportionate.

Compare that to the second image (right) where she looks perfectly proportionate, not too small or too large.

Color

Gugu looks better in the second image also because of the depth of the color as compared to the first one, where the very pale yellow color sort of disappears on her and she looks pale. In the second image, her skin glows and has a healthy warmth.

Gugu has clear and bright coloring with medium to high contrast. So, colors that can be described that way are the colors that look best on her. This is why, for example, she doesn't look her best in nude lipstick (or dresses) but looks great in bright lipstick. We'll discuss this more later.

Too Sharp and Ill-Fitted: Matronly

Gugu Mbatha-Raw: worst outfits

All of these looks age Gugu. They are too sharp and stiff and don't accommodate for her yin. Remember that Classic is a perfect blend of yin (feminine, softness, roundedness) and yang (masculine, sharpness). So, while Gugu is a Dramatic Classic, which means she has extra yang, she is still predominantly blended.

These outfits don't have enough accommodation for her softness. The lines are stiff and sharp and the fabrics are heavy. The complete lack of curve in the lines creates a silhouette that doesn't follow the curve of her body and her femininity is lost. These are just clothes on her, but they do nothing to highlight her body and her beauty.

Waist Definition vs Waist Emphasis

Kibbe Dramatic Classic: waist definition vs. waist emphasis

In these looks, we get to compare what looks best on Gugu with regard to waist definition. Waist definition is a silhouette that is (gently) fitted around the waist area that typically suits Gamine and Classic types (and some Naturals).

Waist emphasis is a silhouette that is drastically fitted around the waist and typically looks great on curvy body types such as Romantics or Soft Dramatics.

The first image (left), features Gugu in a hot pink dress with a waist belt that provides waist emphasis. I think the belt cheapens the look on her and makes an otherwise okay dress look unflattering.

I think the three looks to the right all look beautiful on Gugu. They all have waist definition, in that they are fitted and showcase her waist but, in each case, it is in such a way that it is subtle and doesn't disrupt the rest of the dress. In fact, it is a part of it.

As a Classic, moderation is the goal, which is why waist definition (and not waist emphasis) is best for her.

A Pattern Study

Moderate and Regular Patterns

Kibbe Dramatic Classic: best patterns

Gugu looks beautiful in each of the patterns above. In each case, the repeating elements are moderately sized (small-medium), and the patterns are geometrically regular so nothing jumps out at you. As a whole, all of these looks are well blended and I perceive Gugu together with her outfit, it doesn't jump out at me ahead of her.

Bold and Large Patterns

Kibbe Dramatic Classic: worst patterns

In these images, I do see the pattern first. I feel that it distracts me from her by being visually louder than she is. It's a competition for attention and the patterns win. They are either too bright, too large, or altogether too loud such that they leave her in the background.

As a Classic, her composition is perfectly blended and moderate, so any pattern that doesn't follow that makeup is inharmonious and stands out against her.

A Color Study

Gugu Mbatha-Raw: nude dresses

Gugu naturally has high-contrast coloration (compare her hair to her skin or her pupils to the white of her eyes, etc.). As such, she is best suited by high-contrast clothing as it harmonizes with this coloring.

In these nude (or close to nude) dresses, she looks bland. My eye doesn't know where to focus and it's as though there's nothing to look at. She requires and looks her best in color and high-contrast suits her best.

Why Gugu Mbatha-Raw is NOT a Gamine

With her small stature, one of the other body types that Gugu Mbatha-Raw could have belonged to is Gamine, and because I think potential Classics who are trying to type themselves are often confused between the two, I thought I'd do a small segment on why she is not a Gamine.

Dramatic Classic vs. Flamboyant Gamine

I believe Tessa Thompson is a (textbook!) Gamine, so comparing her to Gugu is a great way to compare and contrast a Classic type to a Gamine type.

Starting with the image above, I think Tessa looks smaller than Gugu. They are essentially the same height, and they are both decidedly small women, but Tessa appears smaller. It's a bit difficult to see in this image, but I also think Tessa's head appears larger as compared to her shoulders (and Gugu's head), which is a Gamine trademark. Gugu, in comparison, is proportionate.

Gamine

Flamboyant Gamine style: Tessa Thompson

Tessa Thompson looks amazing in all of these Gamine looks. The high necklines, bold patterns, and staccato effect type ensembles are all textbook Gamine elements, and she looks amazing in all of them.

In fact, it appears that for Tessa Thompson (and Gamines in general), the wackier the better. The more mismatched, bizarre, and busy- and of course, the more detail that an outfit has, the more it suits her. Otherwise, it's incredibly boring on her.

Kibbe Dramatic Classic in (wrong) Gamine lines

Now, comparing Gugu to Tessa in similar outfits, she looks overwhelmed. These drastically different fabrics, (in some) high necklines, cropped and boxy pieces, bold patterns, and general juxtaposed styling look too busy for Gugu.

At best she looks interesting, but none of these looks are harmonious with her. I feel like she's trying to be cool or fun or edgy. It doesn't feel natural.

Kibbe Dramatic Classic vs. Soft Classic vs. Gamine

Here, Gugu appears alongside Ruth Negga (middle, a Gamine) and Lupita Nyong'o (right, a Classic). Here again, the gamine appears smaller, and even more so in this case, than either of the Classics.

Essence- Hair

Gugu Mbatha-Raw: best hairstyles

Gugu Mbatha-Raw looks her best in clean and polished hair, meaning well-styled (no tousled effect or significant flyaway strands, etc.) and elegant. The above looks showcase her hair at its best.

Top Row

I think Gugu looks her best in her natural hair. In the top row images, we see just how beautifully her curly mane frames her face. I see every part of her expression, both her strong jawline (yang) and the general sweetness she embodies (yin).

In this way, her natural hair is a neutral backdrop that makes her face and all its features shine. Gugu is a Dramatic Classic and a lot of her sharpness appears on her face. This is most evident in such hairstyles.

Bottom Row

Gugu also looks great in sleeker or straightened hair, but again, I think she looks better in the curlier styles (middle, right) because they are closer to her naturally curly texture. I think she is least flattered by the bone-straight style in the first image (left).

Also, Gugu is known for her natural hair and it's come to form a big part of her look, So, at least for me, I feel like a great deal of her essence is missing without it.

Hair Length

Gugu is best suited by short to medium (shoulder-length) hair. Anything longer starts to drag her down.

Hair Misses

Gugu Mbatha-Raw: worst hairstyles

These are not Gugu's best hairstyles. In one way or another, they are too delicate and fine which takes something away from her. For me, that thing is power. I think in these hairstyles she looks cute, and in some cases even matronly- either way, she loses a sense of fierceness.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw: worst hairstyles

In these images, Gugu's hairstyles highlight just how important balance and moderation in styling are for Classics. Each of these looks could have worked but is thrown off by being too something, either by a little bit or by a lot.

In the first two looks (left, middle-left), the hair is too edgy. The raised bump (left) stands out. It's a simple hairstyle, but it looks so edgy on her. I think the combination of the extra height of the hairstyle and its sleekness combine to make it separate from her. A similar hairstyle in her natural texture would look more harmonious on her.

The second look is great, but the side-swept bangs create a sense of asymmetry (and imbalance). She doesn't look bad, I just notice that the hair in the front of her face isn't symmetrical and it feels off. I would never notice this in a Gamine or Natural type.

In the last two looks, Gugu's hair is too ornate. In the third image (middle-right), her hair is curly but it looks a bit unpolished/disheveled because the curls/ringlets are irregular. I think her face looks the best here because the curly hair compliments her, but the curly hair itself is not at its best and that's noticeable because of how important grooming is for Classics.

In the third image (middle-right), the hair is too straight and fine, and the curly side bangs are too girly and fussy for her.

A Bangs Study

Gugu Mbatha-Raw: best curly hairstyles

For Classics, the cleaner the look, the better. As such, Gugu looks better as we move from left to right. Looking strictly at hair, the last look (right) is the best because it's the cleanest and most balanced.

In the first image (left), her bangs are too thick and asymmetrical. They cover too much of her face and it doesn't look 'clean'. In the middle image, she looks great. I feel like it's the first look done right. She has asymmetrical sides-wept bangs but this time, the asymmetry doesn't cause imbalance, it creates interest.

Why? Because the overall look is clean. The first set of bangs is cluttering her face. The second isn't.

A Texture Study

Gugu Mbatha-Raw: different hair textures

I think this array of hair textures highlights just how much she is best suited by her naturally curly texture. Not to say that she doesn't look good in all these hairstyles, but I think she looks more like herself (with added dimension) as we move from left to right.

Curly hair gives her power or, rather, acts as a more harmonious backdrop so that the power in her face comes through. Straight or wavy hair softens her appearance and that power is lessened. This is good to know because she can use it to create the essence she most wants to project at any given time.

This is obviously a costume, but it's a great opportunity to see just how separate unkempt styling is on Gugu. Ignoring her elf/ alien (?) ears, and focusing purely on the hair:

This hairstyle is ultra-textured, has a lot of flyaway strands, and is ununiform in its styling- some parts are braided, some are curly, and some are straight- all of this creates a rough and unbalanced look that works against her Classic essence (poised, balanced, polished).

Essence- Makeup

Gugu Mbatha-Raw: worst makeup

Gugu's makeup is most flattering to her when it's visible, clean, and precise. Gugu has clear coloring, so she is suited by bright colors in her lipstick rather than overly dark or nude palettes.

In the images above, the makeup is not balanced as there are elements that are overemphasized so that they stand out and create disharmony on her face.

In the first look (left), her undereye makeup is the focal point so, by design, it draws my attention. However, while she looks beautiful because she is a stunning person, this eye emphasis is all I see. I have to focus to try and see her entire face, which means she disappears behind her eye makeup.

In the last image (right), her lipstick is too dark and intense and again, I see it first before I see her. It's not harmonious with her. Also, her eye is too bare. The lack of eyeliner is very evident.

In the middle look, I see the opposite problem, There is nothing to focus on. Her eye makeup is fine, but the nude lip feels like a missed opportunity. I feel like her lips disappear. As a whole, I think the no-makeup look doesn't work well for her.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw: best makeup

This is Gugu at her best. She looks stunning in these images. Her makeup is firstly visible, I can see it which is important for her. Here, the lines of her eye makeup are clean and precise, and she doesn't have any blurred lines.

Next, her lips are bright (so distinct) but not in shades that are too intense or overpowering. When she does wear blush it's very subtle which is great because it keeps her lines sharp and clean.

Best Looks

I love this look. I think Gugu looks stunning. I love this dress, the fabric is medium weight and slightly stiff, the lines are sharp and the silhouette is fitted. I also love the length, Gugu doesn't often wear mini-lengths (at least I haven't seen her do so on the red carpet), so not only does all this leg look amazing, but it also feels like a gift.

I love the hair and the shoes are cute. My only critique is I wish her lip was in a brighter shade.

I love this look. The color is amazing- bright and vibrant as suits her so well, likewise her lipstick. The fabric is medium weight and the length is long, but it doesn't swallow her up as it cuts at her ankle.

The lines and elements of this dress are mixed, some yin and some yang, sharp and soft. For example, the deep V is sharp, and the arm and knee ruffles are soft. This works wonderfully on Gugu because she is a Classic type which is a perfect blend of yin and yang, and in her case- Dramatic Classic- with slightly more yang.

The pattern is potentially too youthful/ cute for her, but the repeating elements are regular and balanced so it's harmonious with her essence and simply comes across as fun. All in all, everything adds up to create a beautiful look.

Love. Just beautiful, all of it. No notes. Here, I even love that her lipstick is nude because it allows the dress, which is in a spectacular shade of green, to shine. I think a bright lip would introduce too many colors (because she couldn't wear green lipstick) and disrupt the balance of the ensemble.

This is Gugu looking spectacular in casual wear (for her). While the look is relaxed in fit, its structure is maintained. The lines are sharp and straight (or close to it) in both the clothes and her bag. The top and bottom are a literal matching set. Her makeup is clean with a distinct eyeliner and she's sporting bright lips. Beautiful.

Simple, clean, elegant. The fit is perfect and the side detailing is symmetrical. The fabric has a good weight to it. I love the color and length on her. Her shoes and bag are clean and sharp, and they match.

I do (and will always) wish her hair was in its curly state, but I'll live. She looks beautiful.

Conclusion

Pinpointing your Kibbe body type can be challenging because grasping the nuances of each body type can be confusing. I hope this Dramatic Classic body type and style analysis of Gugu Mbatha-Raw was helpful.

Kibbe Soft Classic Style Analysis: Kirsten Dunst

In this post, I explore and discuss the Soft Classic style identity and essence, focusing on a selection of outfits by American actress, Kirsten Dunst.

What Is The Soft Classic Body Type?

According to Kibbe, the Soft Classic body type is defined by a perfect (blended) balance between yin (feminine) and yang (masculine) with a yin influence. This extra yin or softness can come across in the bone structure, flesh, and or facial features. The overall look created is smooth and symmetrical with slightly rounded edges.

Soft Classic Body Type:

  • Symmetrical bone structure, but with slightly soft or rounded edges

  • Their legs and arms tend to be moderate in length compared to other proportions but can also be slightly shorter

  • They are evenly proportioned through the bust, waist, hip

  • Soft Classics tend to be slightly rounded and may appear slightly fleshy

  • Slightly small and slightly wide facial contours (especially in the jawline, nose, and cheekbones)

Following their lines, Soft Classics are best complemented by soft, flowing lines, smooth and draped silhouettes and slightly rounded edges. Fabrics should be high-quality and light to medium-weight. All finishes should be sophisticated and the overall look should be symmetrical, rounded, tailored, and clean.

What Is The Soft Classic Essence?

David Kibbe describes the Soft Classic body type style identity as 'Graceful Lady'.

The Classic essence is timeless, reserved, sophisticated, and polished. Classics give off a traditional and elegant vibe. More than anything, they need to always give the sense of being put together.

Kirsten's Body Structure:

Kibbe Soft Classic: body lines

When I look at Kirsten's body, I see moderation. Nothing stands out. She is not too big or small, sharp or blunt, curvy or straight. While small, she's not sinewy. She has healthy flesh to her but she's also not too fleshy. Overall, Kirsten is just average or rather, moderate- both and neither all at once.

Kirsten carries a lot of flesh on her face (cheeks, chin). I think this is the most obvious manifestation of her additional softness in an otherwise well-blended structure, which makes her a Soft Classic.

Elongation/ Vertical Line

The vertical line is observed in the silhouette between the shoulders and knees and has to do with how fabric falls on the body. Soft Classics have a moderate vertical line.

Kibbe Soft Classic: vertical line

Again, I see moderation. Kirsten looks moderate in height, not short or tall. Her limbs do look elongated, but not extremely so.

In these images, while I think she looks the best in the short and midi lengths, I think she also looks good in the long-length dress. It doesn't swallow her up.

Soft Classic Hits

Classic Elements

These looks embody Classic principles in the cuts, colors, patterns, trim, and styling. As such, we would expect them to look right at home on Kirsten and to suit her perfectly.

Kibbe Soft Classic: best lines

Kirsten looks great in these outfits. The midi length is perfect for her moderate vertical line. In each case, the fit is well-tailored and just right- not too loose or too tight.

The first look (left) is accentuated by classic elements like the buttons running down the center (symmetry), the waist and wrist cuffs made from matching (but not identical) fabric, and the collar all make the dress definitively Classic and it looks great on her. The nude shoes are simple, classy, and understated.

Similarly in the last look (right), the pattern on the black and white (classic color combination) dress is understated and the repeated elements are moderate in size which makes it suitable for her. The accessories are simple in design and neutral in color.

The middle look has a simple cut and the navy and white polka-dot pattern is textbook classic. The simple yet elegant black shoes and bag- matching bag and shoes is a classic element- and lowkey sunglasses complete the look and she looks beautiful.

In all these looks, nothing stands out. Every element blends in with the rest and the complete looks are polished and put-together, but no single element is striking.

Classic Combinations

Kibbe Soft Classic: best outfits

Again, in the separates, Kirsten leans into her Classic essence. Here, the blue denim, crisp white shirt, black and white color combination (striped cardigan, pumps), and the symmetrical A-line mini- all these are simple, classic pieces and on her, the results are effortlessly stylish.

I want to look a little further at some key elements of these looks and her style in general:

Color

I admire Kirsten's use of color. It shows her understanding of her personal style- her palette is composed of simple, solid, and classic colors. Black, white, blue, red, and beige. She could easily have a wardrobe of just these colors and it would be complete.

Accessories

I also admire how she chooses her accessories. Outside of the choice of color, she also understands the importance of their size and detail.

Size- in each case her accessories (bags, glasses) are moderate in size, not too big or small. For her shoes, the length of her heel is also typically moderate in height and size. This suits her best.

Detail- Classics, and thus Kirsten, are best suited to moderate detailing. Another way to say this is 'simple' detailing- nothing too flashy, bulky, finicky, or glamorous. Also, particularly in her bags and sunglasses, all the edges are softly rounded. Kirsten sticks to these 'rules' really well and all her choices in the above images suit her beautifully.

Kibbe Soft Classic: best lines

Again, Kirsten looks great in these Classic elements: crisp white shirt (dress), black and white color combination, polka dots, clean cuts, simple jewelry, and red pops of color- elegant and understated.

While the separate pieces are simple, the actual look is not. On a different type, these outfits might look underwhelming or boring but, on her and Classics in general, they look elegant and complete. I can easily focus on her face and she shines. She looks great.

Fitted Blazer

Kibbe Soft Classic Style: fitted blazer

I mean! Kirsten was born to wear a tailored blazer. This classic and traditional piece looks perfect on her. In each case, I can't imagine the look without the blazer.

A blazer is a formal piece of clothing, and for some body types and essences, it can only be correctly worn in a formal setting otherwise it looks off. Classics can wear a blazer in the most casual of settings and look perfectly normal.

As we'll see later, they can't pull off overly casual looks without looking undone. Conversely, they can pull off very formal looks without looking formal or stiff. In the looks above (bar the first one which is clearly evening attire), Kirsten could be going anywhere- an afternoon meeting, a dinner date, or picking up her kid from daycare.

Kibbe Soft Classic: best lines

Just a few more images of Kirsten in her correct lines looking her best. Of all the people I've analyzed so far, I think Kirsten has the best grasp of her best lines- particularly in her street style.

I think in her case, the clothes she loves and gravitates to just so happen to be within her body type lines and her styling naturally accentuate her essence. That or her stylist is very clued up, lol. Either way, she tends to just always look good (simple and elegant) and it makes me happy.

Fitted Coat

Kibbe Soft Classic Style: fitted coat

I love these coats on Kirsten. They are fitted and the length is moderate (and not too long) which respects her moderate vertical line. The button detailing is contrasted, which adds some gentle visual interest, and symmetrical which reemphasizes the ever-important sense of balance.

The colors are either neutral or classic; red, beige, or navy blue. The navy blue coat with the gold buttons (right) is reminiscent of the nautical aesthetic, which is itself very Classic in nature. The beige trench coat (middle) is a quintessential classic piece that should form part of any Classic capsule wardrobe.

Drop Waist

Kirsten Dunst style: drop waist

Kirsten looks beautiful in these drop waist styles. I don't think drop waists can be considered 'Classic' in nature per se (they are more Natural), but I think they suit her so well because of how they fit and the youthful essence it pulls out of her.

Particularly in the two midi-length looks (middle, right), the dresses are loosely fitted but not overly so. They are fitted up top and get slightly loose as you move down. This creates a sense of freedom, ease, and fun. For me, this is a girlish (Ingenue) essence that Kirsten has quite a lot of, so this style works very well for her.

I think the first look (left), is the least flattering because of the long vertical line- the long length changes the dress from being fun to drowning her and the asymmetry (from how the dress is blowing to the side) throws off her balance.

A Pattern Study

Bold Patterns

Kibbe Soft Classic: worst patterns

As mentioned, the 'Classic' aesthetic is all about moderation. By definition, bold patterns are not moderate, they stand out. Because of that, they clash against and overpower the Classic essence.

In these looks, Kirsten is overpowered by the patterns. I see them first before I see her. The first checkered pattern (left) is too busy, and the last pattern (right) is too large and bright for her. I think if the color was more subdued, the size of the tomatoes wouldn't matter, but in this color it does.

While not her best, the middle pattern is the most 'okay'. The florals are too large, but the pattern itself is rather subdued and the colors blend well. The pink chiffon and large florals are clear Ingenue elements, which is an essence Kirsten has, so altogether the look works on her.

Subtle Patterns

Kibbe Soft Classic: best patterns

I think these patterns are beautiful on Kirsten. When compared to the boldness of the above patterns, these are moderate and subtle- which makes them more suited for Classics.

The repeating elements are small to medium size and the colors aren't too busy. They function as delicate and subtle additions to the fabric and outfit, they don't overpower it.

On the first and last dresses (yellow-left, blue-right), the patterns are gentle artistic touches that make the look slightly whimsical (because of their design and positioning). The effect is beautiful on her.

A Silhouette Study

Kibbe Soft Classic: silhouette study

Of these two dresses, Kirsten is clearly less suited by the one to the left. The two dresses are similar in length and color, but radically different in style and fit. So, this is a perfect opportunity to compare and contrast why that is.

Loose Dress- Left

The biggest problem with this dress is the cut and thus fit. The lines are too straight for her. Kirsten is a Soft Classic, and the 'soft' part becomes important here. The fabric is too stiff and doesn't have enough softness and rounded edges to match her lines.

The fit around the bodice is puffy which is not ideal for her. The light-to-medium weight of the fabric is fine. So, altogether, this dress has a sack effect on her.

Fitted Dress- Right

This dress is beautiful on Kirsten. The narrow silhouette is flattering, and while the dress has a lot of fabric on account of its length and drapey skirt, it doesn't have excess fabric- it's just right.

The fabric is also medium weight and it drapes, which is great for her softness. The fit around her chest and waist accentuates her femininity. The centered button detail creates symmetry and highlights her Classic balance.

Dramatic Classic vs. Soft Classic- A Quick Study

Much of the outfits up to this point have been generally 'Classic' and so they suited Kirsten beautifully. However, Kirsten Dunst is a Soft Classic, so while she looks good in general Classic ensembles, she looks her best in Soft Classic looks, and she is less flattered by Dramatic Classic styles.

The differences here will feel minimal because they are, but I think it's interesting to see how far we can sharpen our eye for what looks more harmonious compared to something else. Let's consider the following:

Kibbe Soft Classic: fabric study

The two looks I'm comparing are a black tuxedo and a short blue and white dress with a gently cinched waist.

I think Kirsten is better suited and more harmonious and natural in the looks to the right as they are softer in the fabric and detailing which makes them lean more Soft Classic. The looks on the left are more Dramatic Classic and they look a bit restrictive on her.

Black Tuxedo

Left- The tux on the left is too stiff and restrictive on Kirsten. The fit, particularly of the pants, is too narrow (which does make it slightly Dramatic) and her shirt is buttoned up too high. That, combined with her tight, sleek bun creates an altogether restrictive look. I have the desire to loosen her shirt and jacket buttons and let down her hair.

Right- I love the suit to the right. It's fitted yet relaxed, and the legs of her pants are moderate (not too tight or loose). She looks comfortable and elegant.

Blue/ White Dress

Left- The fabric of the dress on the left is too stiff. It has very little movement if any and all the edges (collar, pleats) are sharp. It's stiff on her and doesn't provide her with enough movement and softness.

Right- This dress suits her much better. The fabric is lighter and softer, the edges are rounded, and it has movement. This dress is a bit on the Soft Natural side, but the key component is the softness- either way, it better captures her femininity and looks more harmonious on her.

Soft Classic Misses

Casual/ Athleisure

Kibbe Soft Classic: casual/ athleisure

These sporty and overly casual styles are underwhelming on Kirsten. She looks undone. I get a sense that we caught her at an 'off' moment. You may think that everyone looks rather underwhelming in gym clothes, but that's not true.

Natural types look great in these sorts of looks, consider Flamboyant Natural Gigi Hadid and Soft Natural Jennifer Lopez.

Unconstructed/ Loose Silhouettes

Kibbe Soft Classic: worst silhouettes

A fitted silhouette is vitally important for Classics. So, loose or unconstructed silhouettes are the furthest from this and the Classic gets lost within it.

In the first two looks (left, middle), I lose Kirsten's body. I know it's under there somewhere, I'm just not sure where. The fabric of the middle look is too slinky and completely devoid of structure. There is no construction to speak of and since 'well-constructed' is a vital element for Classics, it looks unflattering on Kirsten. The outfit is more suited to a Natural type.

The last image (right) is the best of these. It's fitted, the fabric is medium weight, and it's designed in such a way that there is both structure and movement. The flare of the skirt (that brings the movement) is moderate so it doesn't overwhelm her. It's simple, well-constructed, and beautiful.

Kibbe Soft Classic: worst silhouettes

The first dress (left) has a great structure and the top is fitted, which suits her. However, the skirt is simply too large for her. The flare is too exaggerated and she gets lost beneath it. This much excess fabric (especially at this fabric weight) gives me the impression that she's struggling beneath it and she's struggling to drag it along.

The second dress (right) is again devoid of any structure and is better suited to a (Soft) Natural type. Also, because of the long length, the dress drags her down. The waist definition helps to fit the dress to her, but this style of dress is just not for her.

Dramatic Essence

Kibbe Soft Classic embodying a Dramatic essence

In all these three looks, the black color, stiff and heavy fabrics, and sharp lines all create a Dramatic essence that is very separate from Kirsten. These outfits, particularly the first (left) and middle looks are too harsh for her.

Left- While this look is inharmonious with her, the contrast works to highlight her softness. Her face and her hair look very soft and delicate, which suits her. The dress itself is well structured and constructed and not too stiff, so it sits well on her. So, when done purposefully, this sort of styling can work wonderfully for soft types.

Middle- This is the least flattering of the three looks. The silhouette is too narrow and is further streamlined by the black tights and shoes. Her eye makeup is also very dramatic and sharply contrasted- all of which makes this a Dramatic look. It's harsh and very separate from her.

Right- The last look is beautiful on Kirsten because of all the elements that work for her that it brings together- the fitted top and silhouette, great construction, soft feather bottom, and the color gradations which soften the harshness of the black color.

However, this dress is not her best because one element works against her and stands out for me- the fabric of the top part of the dress is too stiff and rigid. If that fabric was just a little softer and malleable, this look would be perfectly harmonious. Still, she looks good.

Ingénue Essence

Ingenue essence: Kirsten Dunst

Kirsten Dunst has a clear Ingénue essence that I think is most evident on her face. She looks young and innocent, certainly when she was younger, but even now is a grown woman in her 40s.

In these images, Kirsten looks at home in the overly girly elements of flowers, pigtails, tulle, and an overall soft and whimsical vibe.

Kibbe Soft Classic with Ingenue essence: Kirsten Dunst

Bows are another cute girly element that looks great on Kirsten, proving her Ingenue essence yet again. On a person without this essence, these bows would look childish. I think the two last images (middle, right) depict Kirsten at her best, where her Classic and Ingénue essence combine.

The dresses are structured and well-tailored and the bow detail makes them sweet and innocent. In the last look, the black acts as a color block element that ties the look together and creates that 'complete set' or 'matchy-matchy' look that's ideal for Classics.

Kibbe Soft Classic with Ingenue essence: Kirsten Dunst

Nothing is perhaps more girlish than pink tulle, and Kirsten Dunst wears a lot of it. More importantly, she wears it well. I could never wear these dresses and be taken seriously because I do not have an Ingénue essence.

In the last dress (right), the tulle is rainbow-colored, which makes it even more girly. Still, on Kirsten. it doesn't look childish, it looks playful.

Whimsical

Kibbe Soft Classic with Ingenue essence: Kirsten Dunst

Here, the girly leans more to the whimsical side with the baby's breath scarf (left), the white beading (middle), and the delicate floral design (right). Again, she looks great, and in no way childish. She is within her element.

Essence- Makeup

As a Classic, Kirsten's best looks are those that center on simplicity and moderation. This manifests as clean lines (not overly blended) and colors that are clear and bright but not overpowering.

Kirsten Dunst: best makeup

This is Kirsten at her best. Her makeup is clean and clear. Her eye makeup is minimal and her eyeliner is sharp and concise. Her lip colors are beautiful and bright, but none of them are too intense for her. She looks beautiful.

Kirsten Dunst: worst makeup

These are not Kirsten's best looks. In the first two looks (far-left, middle-left), her eye makeup is too dark and intense. This style of makeup is better suited for a Dramatic essence type and it overpowers Kirsten's softer facial contours. In these images, her eyes are all I see which means that it's inharmonious with her.

In the last two images (middle-right, far-right), her, makeup is too light for her and it washes her out. This is easiest to see in the first image with the blue eye shadow. Not only is the shade too light, but it's also too blended for her. Add to that, her lip color is also ultra-light and so is her hair so that the entire look has very little contrast and her face has no definition.

In the last look, Kirsten looks good, I like her eye makeup. However, I think her lip color would look better if it was a shade or two darker. She doesn't look bad, she just looks fine, like a blank canvas. For this reason, I think a subtle eye and a visible lip color are her best makeup combination.

Essence- Hair

Kirsten Dunst: best hairstyles

Kirsten looks great in all the styles above.

I found Kirsten's hair to be very interesting because I thought as a Classic type, her hair would need to be polished at all times. However, this isn't the case. As can be seen in the images above, she looks great in many types of hairstyles, lengths, precision, and even colors (so long as they are natural and of the same intensity as her natural color).

Hair Color

Blonde is Kirsten's natural hair color, so it's her best. Her natural coloring is very light and so are her eyes, which gives her a very low-contrast look. So, she can change her hair color, but the contrast level (if you make the image black and white) must remain the same. That's why she looks great as a redhead, it doesn't upset her color composition.

Top Row

I think this is Kirsten at her most natural. These short lengths (and bangs) are great for her as they highlight her youthful essence, and the blonde color, whether bleach or sandy, works beautifully with her skin.

Bottom Row

Kirsten is also suited by longer lengths (middle images). I do think they make her look more mature, so depending on what she's going for, she can play into or away from that, but she looks great in both the red and blonde long hair. That said, I think this length is as long as she can go without it dragging her down.

On the far left and far right images, we see Kirsten in slightly tousled hair with a lot of flyaway strands and unprecise styling. As I said before, I would expect this to look disheveled on a Classic type, but I think she looks great. It actually brings out that playful, whimsical essence she has.

Her many essences make her hair very versatile.

Kirsten Dunst: worst hairstyles

Kirsten is so cute and sweet in essence that it's difficult to say she looks bad in anything, but I think these are some of her least flattering hairstyles.

In the first image (left), her hair is too stiff. It looks rigid and completely devoid of movement which clashes with her softness and youthfulness. In the middle image, the hair is very youthful and free, but the color combination is too childish for her (I know!).

I think if her hair was either blonde or red, it would be great but the choice to combine the colors is a bit extreme for her. While her Ingenue essence is strong, she is primarily a Classic. So this sort of experimental styling becomes harsh against her.

I think she looks great and so joyous in the last image, and the style works on her, especially within the context of the outfit (see below). However, as a general opinion, it is a bit too childish and unpolished for her. I think slightly shorter framing bangs and a more brushed-out look would more harmonious.

Best Looks

I mean- this is 90's Barbiecore goals. Kirsten looks fun, cute, cool, and edgy- all at the same time! The hair, the butterfly clips, the barbie bag, the pink- every piece is right where it should be to create this vibe of a look and she looks like a sweet dream.

This is such a beautiful dress on Kirsten. It's simple and elegant, well-made and fitted, and the length is perfect. The color is beautiful on her and she shines.

This dress is beautifully fitted and constructed. The seams and piping highlight this, and such details always look great on Classics. That swallow detail on the bottom of the dress adds a touch of interest without disrupting the overall elegance of the look. I love her red hair and how it plays with the pale blue color of the dress. She looks beautiful.

Drop waist? Check. High-quality fabric? Check. Midi length? Check. Delicate feminine trim and detail? Check. Simple and elegant? Check.

Kirsten looks beautiful in this ensemble. Yes, it does lack the structure generally required by Classics, but her softness allows her to lean into the more yin elements and still thrive.

My only gripe is with the shoes, they are fun and quirky, but that boxy, toe-like design is better suited to a Gamine type. On a Soft Classic like Kirsten, they do take away some elegance from her.

This is how Kirsten pulls off edgy. This is how she can invoke a Dramatic essence without having it overwhelm her. The fully black ensemble makes this Dramatic, but the fabric choice (namely the tulle), flare skirt, and ribbon detail soften it and align it with her softer Ingenue essence.

Her hair and makeup are beautiful and she looks cool, well-balanced, and beautiful.

I love this look. It's traditionally classic in design and tailoring (look at those pleats!) and it fits her beautifully. I love the feminine touches added by the cinched waist and gently ballooning sleeves. The color of the dress is clear and bright and the floral pattern is somewhat whimsical.

The dress is rather long, but I love how it cuts at her ankle. That ankle visibility stops it from being too long and completely swallowing her. Her hair and makeup are perfect and she looks lovely.

This is fun. The black collar, cuffs, trim, bag, and shoes create an ensemble/ matching-set effect. Everything matches. While I like the pattern on the skirt, it's a tad risky for her- it's quite bold and draws attention- but it's a risk she pulls off which makes this look exciting on her. The complete look still feels somewhat balanced as the shirt is clear of any design. She looks great.

This leans a bit into Soft Natural territory with the long vertical line, cinched waist, and draping fabric. I also find the belt to be a bit showy for her- yet, she pulls it off. This shade of blue is lovely on her and she looks so beautiful and angelic here.

If I had to make some adjustments, I would change her earrings for something simpler and more elegant, white pearls perhaps, and likewise I would change the gold chain to a string of white pearls. This would elevate the elegance of the look and create that 'matching set' effect, both of which are so beautiful and important for Classics.

Conclusion

Pinpointing your Kibbe body type can be challenging because grasping the nuances of each body type can be confusing. I hope this Soft Classic body type and style analysis of Kirsten Dunst was helpful.

Coats For The Kibbe Body Types | Shopping Guide

Buying A Coat? Make Sure You know Your Lines First

Nothing brings an outfit together beautifully or completely ruins it like a coat. That's because a coat is the first thing you see when someone is wearing it.

Often, if it's cold enough, it's the only thing we see apart from their boots. This makes getting your coat selection right incredibly important.

Knowing your lines can help you buy better the first time so you don't accumulate clothes and accessories that you don't use. This post is a buying guide for dressy coats for each of the five main Kibbe body types, with respect to their lines and essence, as recommended by David Kibbe himself.

You can Find Your Kibbe Type by taking the test here.

Note: In this post, I am not typing the people, just the coats themselves. For example, I know Amal Clooney isn't a Classic, she is quite clearly a Dramatic. However, she embodies the Classic essence perfectly and she primarily wears Classic lines.

Dramatics

The Dramatic Kibbe body type is characterized by long, lean lines, and sharp edges. This gives an elongated, masculine, and powerful appearance. Similarly, Dramatic clothing lines are long and sharp and fabrics are stiff, creating an altogether sleek, sculpted, and elongated look. The Dramatic essence is powerful.

Coats for Kibbe Dramatics

Left: Dramatic Coat Do's

Here both Tilda Swinton and Zendaya look perfectly harmonious. Their coats are long and sleek, and the edges are sharp.

Zendaya's look is further elevated by the same color boots that extend her elongation. This monochromatic scheme might be overpowering for other body types, but it looks great on a Dramatic.

Right: Dramatic Coat Don'ts

These styles aren't harmonious with Dramatics. Zendaya's cropped jacket is too short and it cuts her vertical line in the front.

Tilda Swinton's coat is too wide. Dramatics have a narrow frame and are suited by tailored lines that closely follow that frame. She is lost in this oversized, shapeless coat.

Dramatic Coats

Coats for Kibbe Dramatics
In shopping for coats, Dramatics should look for a long, narrow, fitted silhouette. Fabrics should be high-quality and medium to heavy weight. All edges should be sharp and crisp.

Natural

The Natural body type is defined by soft yang and is the overall combination of a slightly broad and angular structure, with a defined musculature. Natural clothing lines are long but wide, and with blunt edges (not sharp). The Natural silhouette is relaxed, straight, and unconstructed. The fabrics are textured and heavy. The Natural essence is free, easy-going, and fresh.

Coats for Kibbe Naturals

Left: Natural Coat Do's

Gigi's coat is perfectly harmonious with her. It's long, textured, slightly oversized, and the fit is very relaxed. Jennifer's coat has a belt to cinch in the waist which is great for her as a Soft Natural who looks best with waist definition.

Right: Natural Coat Don'ts

Kendall's coat is too light and silky for her frame. Naturals need heavier fabrics, and they do very well with texture.

Gigi's coat is too sharp. This is better suited to Dramatics with a sharp bone structure. Naturals have a beveled bone structure, so they are best suited to rounded edges, particularly in the shoulder.

Coats for Kibbe Naturals

In shopping for coats, Naturals should look for a long, slightly loose, and slightly oversized silhouette. Fabrics should be heavy (can be textured) and in natural fibers and colors. Edges and details should be large and rounded.

Classic

The Kibbe Classic body type is defined by a perfect (blended) balance between yin and yang and the overall look created is tailored, smooth, and symmetrical with even edges- not a hair out of place. Classic clothing lines are soft, straight lines or smoothly curved lines. The fabrics are high-quality, timeless, and traditional. The Classic essence is timeless, reserved, sophisticated, and polished.

Coats for Kibbe Classics

Left: Classic Coat Do's

Both Kate Middleton and Amal Clooney look amazing in these Classic coats. The beige-tan color of Kate's coat is elegantly subdued and the detailing is simple and timeless.

Amal's outfit is further elevated by being part of a tailored set complete with a matching skirt. This creates a sophisticated and complete look, which is great for Classics.

Right: Classic Coat Don'ts

The coats to the right are not the best for Classic types. In the first image, the leather fabric is too unstructured and this lack of tailoring makes Amal look frumpy.

The coat in the second image (right) is too colorful for a Classic. The yellow coat with the black stripe and white trim has too many vibrant colors that overwhelm the calm, Classic essence.

Coats for Kibbe Classics
In shopping for coats, Classics should look for a fitted silhouette, simple detailing, and symmetry. High-quality fabrics in classic patterns or shades. The Coat and overall look should feel polished.

Romantic

The Romantic Kibbe body type is defined by lush yin and characterized by roundness and curves. The overall shape of their clothing should be round and soft and should emphasize their full hourglass figure. Fabrics are luxurious and details are feminine (ruffles, lace, rouching). The Romantic essence is magnetic, sensual, and luxurious.

Coats for Kibbe Romantics

Left: Romantic Coat Do's

This green coat on Cardi B is a beautiful embodiment of Romantic lines. It's light in fabric and color, it's cinched at the waist, and it's trimmed in delicate, luxurious fur.

Beyonce's coat is bulkier and loose (not figure-accentuating), but the fabric is light and silky, and the color is bright. Romantics don't have to always cinch their waist, and this coat shows how they can pull that off.

Right: Romantic Coat Don'ts

Beyonce's coat is too long, narrow, and sharp. The fabric doesn't look too heavy (which is good), but this suit is better suited to a Dramatic.

Selena Gomez's coat is too long, large, heavy, and textured. It swallows her up and it looks like it's an actual burden to keep it on. I think the lapels are too large and the tie-string too long. The fabric is also not smooth enough for her delicate structure.

I get the sense that this coat was meant for a bigger person. This would be better suited to a Flamboyant Natural.

Coats for Kibbe Romantics
In shopping for coats, Romantics should look for a softly fitted silhouette that accentuates their hourglass figure. Fabric must be soft and light to medium weight. Trims and details should be small, delicate, and ornate. Edges should be rounded.

Gamine

The Gamine body type is defined by an even yet seemingly random combination of yin and yang opposites. This creates an overall very youthful and energetic appearance. Gamine clothing lines are short and sharp and are always striving for a staccato effect. Silhouettes should be fitted and compact. Graphic elements and color usage that adds to their fun vibe are ideal. The Gamine essence is energetic, youthful, and mischievous.

Coats for Kibbe Gamines

Left: Gamine Coat Do's

Zoe Kravitz's jacket is short and sharp and it looks perfect on her. The length cuts her small frame perfectly just below the knee.

Rihanna's Coat is also sharply edged but what really makes it stand out is the color. It's fun, bold, and vibrant which captures the Gamine essence. It is too long for Gamines but it's fitted so it's not overpowering.

Right: Gamine Coat Don'ts

The coats to the right are too large for Tessa Thompson and Zoe Kravitz. They are both overwhelmed and swallowed up by the fabric and it makes them look smaller than they are.

The contrasting high collar of Tessa's jacket is great for Gamines, but the size is just too large.

Coats for Kibbe Gamines

In shopping for coats, Gamines should look for a cropped or short silhouette. The fabric, colors, and patterns should be fun and bold. Trims should be contrasted and details should be fun. Fabric weight should be medium and not too heavy.

Conclusion

This guide is to help sharpen your eye for what you need to look for when buying coats by asking some simple questions. Are you better suited to smooth or textured fabric? Knee-length coats or ankle-length? Sharp lapels or rounded? Trim or no trim? Neutral tones or colorful styles?

The answers to these questions are different for each of the Kibbe body types, and knowing them for yourself will help you buy better each time, and avoid the styles that don't work for your lines and essence (i.e. the items you buy that sit at the back of your closet).

I hope this guide helps you to shop better. Let me know if it does. You can Find Your Kibbe Type by taking the test here.
